What is 5-alpha reductase

It is an enzyme that converts testosterone in dihydrotestosterone. This
hormone is the cause of androgenetic alopecia: the scalp presents
quite always an excessive sebum production, the hair becomes shorter
and thinner until it miniaturizes itself.

For the female androgenetic alopecia affects mainly the vertex and the frontal area. See Ludwig Scale. Often it begins in coincidence with a hormonal change as for example the beginning/suspension of pills, after pregnancy or postmenopausa period.

What is Malassezia furfur?

It’s a mushroom, called also Pityrosporum Ovale, responsible for the presence of dandruff; usually it lives on the scalp, but it proliferates widely in presence of excessive sebum production.  Growing, this mushroom releases fatty acids which cause the inflammatory manifestations of the seborrhoea dermatitis. Time passing, in the interested area appears hair loss. The 5-AlfORising treatment, due to the natural active ingredients. contained, helps to keep under control the excessive sebum production caused by the action of enzyme the 5-alpha Reductase.
